Unique, underrated hotels to stay in around the US

It’s easy to look up idyllic hotels in touristy states like California and Florida. However, if you have a hankering to travel to the Midwest or the South, you’ll often be hard-pressed to know where to start looking for accommodation. The good news is there are amazing hotels across the country that have great amenities, a fascinating history, beautiful architecture and sometimes all three at once. This is a selection of the unsung heroes of the American hospitality industry that you must put on your bucket list.

Alabama

Arizona

New Orleans

The Catahoula Boutique is a 35-room boutique hotel in downtown New Orleans. Built-in 1845, the hotel is Creole townhouse that has been restored.
